Bideford, after James Ravilious
During 2019 I made a number of visits to Bideford (including, I think, my first ever), to see the very fine exhibition at The Burton of the Beaford Archive pictures by James Ravilious and Roger Deakins. I have been a huge admirer for many years of James Ravilious's photographs.
During these visits, I attended two excellent workshops by Dave Green on B&W film development and printing. This of course involved taking some pictures on (mostly) Black & White film.
Having dug out my film camera bodies (still with partially exposed films in them from 12-13 years ago!), I therefore visited various Bideford locations featured in some of James's images in order to make comparison / alternative shots. This gallery shows some of these images. You should be able to find the original Ravilious images by carrying out a search here.
